Some research indicates that a patch was created by a man named Tim Demarest
to fix the 20,000 millisecond timeout problem. I don't know how much of an
increase is necessary. I hope to try 30,000 and see what happens.

Does anyone know where this patch is?

Subject: [BackupPC-users] 20000 millisecond timeout

I have heard that to get rid of the "20000 millisecond timeout" message that
I need to recompile the kernel. While that is a risky move, that is
something I am willing to do. I have a large server with over 600 GB that
needs to be backed up. I now have about four or five failed backups to show
for that, and all of them are due to this problem. I have already disabled
the virus scanner.

I am not interested in starting backups and having them quit somewhere along
the way. I need backup software that will start a full backup and finish it.

How do I get rid of this?
