I had similar issues that i was never able to solve to my satisfaction. I worked around them by adding a few cnames for the client host, and configuring each of them as a backup client, with a specific portion of the filesystem. if you do this, make sure you have one that includes all by default, and excludes the other portions. that way a new directory will get backed up. > > I think incrementals are discarded on failures but the files copied in a > partial full are saved.
