Problem finally resolved. The error was caused by BackupPC being unable to locate the rsync binary on the client device. The Last Bad Xfer log gave me the clue : Fatal error (bad version): ash: /usr/bin/rsync: not found
The device is a Synology NAS server and instead of having the binary at /usr/bin/rsync it was located at usr/syno/bin/rsync , so the standard setting in BackupPC didn't point to the correct path. Once again my thanks to all who have given me assistance - it is greatly appreciated. +---------------------------------------------------------------------- |This was sent by [email protected] via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to [email protected]. +---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by Make an app they can't live without Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge http://p.sf.net/sfu/RIM-dev2dev _______________________________________________ BackupPC-users mailing list [email protected] List: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/backuppc-users Wiki: http://backuppc.wiki.sourceforge.net Project: http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/
