Google has not been my friend on this issue. In fact, if you search on my
error code today, most of what you'll find is this thread!
Okay, here's an update:
>From my BackupPC server, which uses smbclient version 3.4.7, these commands
fail:
smbclient \\\\10.10.10.111\\win7home -U username -E -d 3
smbclient \\\\10.10.10.111\\win7home -U backuppc -E -d 3
>From another Windows 7 machine, I can connect with these commands:
net use k: \\10.10.10.111\win7home /user:username
net use k: \\10.10.10.111\win7home /user:backuppc
My Ubuntu laptop uses smbclient 3.5.4; I can't connect from there either.
I have other Windows 7 machines in the office that I can connect to, and I
was able to connect to 10.10.10.111 until about 3 weeks ago, before I
assigned the machine to its user, who evidently screwed something up.
I'm willing to entertain any possibility; please share your ideas!
