Good luck with that. Ssh, Rsync, tar, and smbclient are the 'other tools', and once you understand what they do, backuppc is fairly intuitive and it's automation and web interface are much easier to use than the low-level tools themselves. These are things you basically need to know to administer any unix-like system - and once learned will apply across most of them. There should be no need to read source, though. Just pick which xfer type is appropriate (or if you want advice, describe your potential targets and the OS they run), and learn enough about how it works to set the documented configuration variables for backuppc - which you can mostly do through it's web interface. -- Les Mikesell lesmikes...@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Colocation vs. Managed Hosting A question and answer guide to determining the best fit for your organization - today and in the future. http://p.sf.net/sfu/internap-sfd2d _______________________________________________ BackupPC-users mailing list BackupPC-users@lists.sourceforge.net List: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/backuppc-users Wiki: http://backuppc.wiki.sourceforge.net Project: http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/
