>From my point of view, swap is there for emergency use. It keeps the server going when it runs out of RAM. However, the server should not be using swap during normal operations. If it is, you need to add more RAM. Any time the server is using any significant amount of swap, it will slow down noticeably as swap is *MUCH* slower than RAM. Particularly with RAM prices these days, this is a fairly cheap fix. -- Bowie ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RSA® Conference 2012 Save $700 by Nov 18 Register now! http://p.sf.net/sfu/rsa-sfdev2dev1 _______________________________________________ BackupPC-users mailing list BackupPC-users@lists.sourceforge.net List: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/backuppc-users Wiki: http://backuppc.wiki.sourceforge.net Project: http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/
