Hello, Until now I was backing up my servers with BackupPC, everything was fine, powerful machines, backup at night, life is beautiful.
Today I started to backup my users Windows computer via Rsyncd and complaints started to arrive. Less powerful machines starting to get old, machines getting slow, could not work correctly, Internet slow, etc... life was so great. So, I'm looking for a solution for backups not to impact my users. One one the problem is that computers are usually off at night. I can limit the bandwidth via rsync parameters but what about the transfer duration? Maybe use wake on lan? But I'll have to configure each computer and shut them off after the backup, not even talking of computers not supporting WoL.
