Hi all, I'm using BackupPC since years for a couple of Linux servers and it works like a charm.
I have included some Windows XP/7 machines, too. Appears to work like a charm, too. Unfortunately I recently realized on a single machine the backed up directory structure is not correct. :-/ BackupPC version is 3.2.1 running on a CentOS6 server. Backup Method is SMB. Client is a Win7 Prof, being member of a AD Domain. The backuppc User is created in the AD structure as a backup user and a domain admin user. The share C is created on the Win7 machine and configured to full access for the backuppc user. I verified I can logon with username and password from the backuppc machine with smbclient to the share and I can cd to every folder in question and download every file. It might be related to the Win7 symbolic link issues, but I don't have the knowledge to figure them out- and I'm not suree if it's related. The only post I found was from 2011 and the OP did not get a proper reply. So this is what I see with smbclient: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ smb: \> dir $RECYCLE.BIN DHS 0 Tue Jun 10 20:43:07 2014 25343fc61e22e4f921a52157e235 D 0 Thu Dec 12 14:01:36 2013 Apps D 0 Mon Mar 5 21:54:47 2012 dell D 0 Sat Sep 21 15:22:40 2013 dell.sdr AHR 33180 Mon Mar 5 23:35:48 2012 Documents and Settings DHS 0 Tue Jul 14 07:08:56 2009 Dokumente und Einstellungen DHS 0 Tue Apr 9 08:32:37 2013 Drivers D 0 Mon Mar 5 23:20:11 2012 Garmin D 0 Tue Mar 18 22:14:13 2014 hiberfil.sys AHS 6361485312 Wed Aug 20 12:35:51 2014 Intel D 0 Mon Mar 5 14:37:57 2012 pagefile.sys AHS 8481984512 Wed Aug 20 12:35:54 2014 PerfLogs D 0 Tue Jul 14 05:20:08 2009 Program Files DR 0 Sun Aug 17 23:21:05 2014 Program Files (x86) DR 0 Sun Aug 17 12:03:14 2014 ProgramData DH 0 Thu Jul 17 10:50:18 2014 Programme DHS 0 Tue Apr 9 08:32:37 2013 System Volume Information DHS 0 Mon Aug 18 23:26:17 2014 Users DR 0 Tue Jun 10 19:56:06 2014 WINDOWS D 0 Wed Aug 20 12:36:04 2014 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ And this is what is seen in /var/lib/BackupPC/pc/laptop/319/fC ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [root@backuppc fC]# ll total 44 -rw-r----- 6 backuppc backuppc 193 Jun 15 19:02 attrib drwxr-x--- 13 backuppc backuppc 4096 Aug 17 15:06 f25343fc61e22e4f921a52157e235 drwxr-x--- 4 backuppc backuppc 4096 Aug 17 15:08 fApps drwxr-x--- 2 backuppc backuppc 4096 Aug 17 15:08 fdell -rw-r----- 17 backuppc apache 5943 Dec 27 2012 fdell.sdr drwxr-x--- 2 backuppc backuppc 4096 Aug 17 15:08 fDocuments and Settings drwxr-x--- 2 backuppc backuppc 4096 Aug 17 15:08 fDokumente und Einstellungen drwxr-x--- 9 backuppc backuppc 4096 Aug 17 15:09 fDrivers drwxr-x--- 3 backuppc backuppc 4096 Aug 17 15:10 fGarmin drwxr-x--- 4 backuppc backuppc 4096 Aug 17 15:06 f$RECYCLE.BIN [root@backuppc fC]# pwd ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There are absolutely NO errors in the hosts logfiles.
