I have found his tool quite helpful in every regard except one:  the 
installer will fail to install on Windows Server 2012/R2 (and quite likely 
Windows 8/8.1).  It doesn't detect the VSS version and therefore won't 
install *anything*.  (And needless to say, all of my new servers are 
2012...)

Michael was kind enough to send me the source code for the installer, but 
my installer-fu is weak:  after a weekend of playing with it I was no 
closer to making it work.

I've been told that it's not terribly difficult to do by hand what the 
installer is doing, but I haven't tried.  If there are any users out there 
who have done the manual version and have documented the process, I would 
greatly appreciate seeing that documentation...
