And so given that fact (and that *is* a fact) that the e-mails are not
from BackupPC, there are two things to consider:
1) The e-mails are *not* coming from BackupPC, so we can't really help you
to figure out where they're coming from! :) Others have mentioned
checking the manifold places that cron can run to see if it's there;
another thing would be to look at the headers of the e-mail to see if
there are any clues in there as well.
2) You've changed your e-mail frequency to 6.97 in order to avoid the
annoyance of the daily e-mails. That means that you will now have to have
a full *week* of failed backups before BackupPC alerts you to this at
*all*. It's your system, of course, but now that you understand that
being bugged is *not* BackupPC's fault, you may want to put your e-mail
frequency back to where it was: 2.5 is the factory default. (By the way,
that's why sending out daily "I'm alive!" e-mails is bad, and why BackupPC
doesn't do it: *everyone* rapidly ignores *all* e-mails from that
source!)
