What kind of protocol are you using? Are there any custom parameter in the "restore command" line in your conf? If rsync, you could always try to run rsync transfer in dry-run mode to see if everything is working properly or not.. from your backuppc machine, issue these commands: 1. su - backuppc (where backuppc is the user who runs the backup job - see your hosts config) 2. /bin/bash (just to have a more confortable bash shell ...) 3. rsync -avzr --dry-run portable6:sharename/ where "portable6" is the client machine name, and "sharename" is the share you wish to backup using rsync. (rsync or rsyncd must be already running on the "portable6" machine) You should see the file list, as in a "simulation" of the transfer process.
