What happens if you stop the docker images manually, and disable the
DumpPreUserCmd, then try running the backup? (Possibly with a command like:
"/usr/share/backuppc/bin/BackupPC_dump -f -v host.example.tld" to get faster
and more convenient feedback for debugging purposes). 

Have you verified that there are files there to be backed up, after you run
the DumpPreUserCmd?
