Dear all,

I'm using BackupPC for some years on Debian. After updating to Debian 9, PaxHeader Folders began to appear in the backups of Windows hosts when file name with german umlauts are present. This has already been mentioned by another user here:

https://sourceforge.net/p/backuppc/mailman/message/35232861/

The problem has been fixed in Release 4.2.0:
https://github.com/backuppc/backuppc/releases/tag/4.2.0

I've updated to Debian 10 and installed BackupPC 4.3.0 from the Debian 10 packages mentioned here:

https://github.com/backuppc/backuppc/wiki/Build-Your-Own-Packages

But the PaxHeader folders still exist in the backups taken after the update and their time stamp is always updated to the time of the most recent backup. Inspection of the XferLog shows no PaxHeader folders at all.

How do I get rid of those PaxHeader folders created by BackupPC 3.x? I don't want to delete old backups if possible.

Thanks,
Peter
