Yes, this is correct. I did this about a year ago. I had a backuppc3 installation from forever-ago that was still running. I stood up backuppc4 in a FeeBSD jail on my TrueNAS box. Both were running simultaneously until I got backuppc4 dialed in, then retired the backuppc3 installation and hardware.
