Hi, I'm not sure that's correct - files with the same size don't necessarily have the same content. These are logs that are rotated when they hit a certain size and this is confirmed by the MD5s (used for deduplication) differing as seen in the output from BackupPC_ls.
Regardless, the content of the file and the uid/gid attributes should be separate issues. This was uncovered during a test restore to a different location. By way of a little more clarity, I used BackupPC_delete to remove the files from all backups of this target to maintain consistency in the pool/db. I then ran BackupPC_nightly 0 255 to try to clear out the no-longer-used files. So it would seem that something is wrong in the attrib files - thanks for the pointer, I'll go and have a poke around there to see if I can spot anything obvious.
