I have found the server status page helpful when I want an update on progress. “count” column will increment when page is refresh after a reasonable time (a minute or so). And I can usually get a sense of how many files are expected by looking at that hosts summary page and the “File Size/Count Reuse Summary” table for recent total number of files and the “Backup Summary” tables gives recent time elapsed doing incremental and full backups.
And if the RefCntFsck option is 1, 2 or 3, you can see the backup # change periodically with page refresh as it works from oldest to newest backup. You could set XferLogLevel to a higher value for that host and view the log as the backup progresses. I set to 1 to get started when a little detail is needed.
