Yes, we just want direct children... The purpose is to display the content of 
a directory. We have a server in my environment were we couldn't even use 
your method efficiently, because we're talking about millions of directories, 
and several revisions of them :)
We'll be better off retrieving only what's been asked by the user, I think.

Anyhow, thanks a lot for sharing ideas, your's could get handy, getting the 
whole tree may be of use one of these days.
