On a 32 bit system, having such a library will only confuse things. I 
personally would complain to the packagers and then delete it.  If someone 
wants to send a patch that will fix the problem, I'll be happy to integrate 
it.  However, the patch needs to be tested on a number of systems to ensure 
that it works correctly.
