Out of curiosity, is anyone using a recovery environment where the appropriate
shared libs (pthread, openssl, etc) aren't available?  For my part, the rescue
disk I use (the Fedora rescue disk) is able to run the same dynamically linked
binaries from the regular RPM packages.
