Thanks for this information.

A couple of points: unfortunately, it was probably not well documented that 
bpipe was and still is what I consider a demo program.  That is, it uses raw 
Unix calls rather than the Bacula infrastructure and as such, I don't 
consider it a "production" class plugin.   One user recently complained that 
it produced poor error messages, which could well be true, but considering 
that it uses a raw Unix interface that is not too surprising ...

That said, (second point): it should not crash, and I would appreciate it if 
you would file a bug report on the crash, because that is something that I 
would like to fix.

Over the next couple of months, I'll look at bpipe to see if it is possible to 
improve its error messages and stability.  I had hoped that bpipe would be a 
sort of template for "real" plugins that would be written explicitly for 
MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite by the community.  Unfortunately that hasn't 
happened -- at least not yet.
