Hello, Yes, documentation on the Director's communications protocol used with bconsole and bat (the two are significantly different) is non-existent. Unfortunately, given all the high-end stuff we are trying to implement, it is not likely that it will get done unless someone contributes the doc.
My recommendation would be to teach your wife and kids how to use bat. There is a set of help files that come with bat that are in html, and can be easily extended to include what you want.
