This values goes to the archive volumes as a stream type identifiers. So
when you change it in your code then you'll be unable to recover.

I do not think so. I suppose a Kern add them to the code base when he
ported some patches from Enterprise version without testing a build under
Solaris, so he miss some. It is my guess only.
