OK, that change was a major step backward. I modified my Device resource for my tape drive as specified and added an Autochanger resource to my Director, and now with that change *alone*, BAT suddenly cannot browse Storages, Clients, Pools, FileSets, or Jobs. (However, it can still browse Media and Jobs Run.)
