While answering a user question the other day on identifying files that span tape boundaries, I extended one of the indexes on the File table:
MySQL localhost> alter table File drop index PathId, add index PathId (PathId, FilenameId, FileIndex); This change has MASSIVELY sped up the 'purge volume' operation. Purges that used to take four or five minutes now complete in 20 to 30 seconds.
