Dan,
For regression testing, it should build Bacula with all the standard
options. The only things that need to be specified manually are in the
config file in the regression directory. Most of them have reasonable
defaults, but you do need to specify a few things such as what SQL
database to use, where the source code is, the host name, the smtp host,
and if you are using ctest, the site name.
Note all the -fPIC stuff is done in ./configure ...
