Hello Kanika,

Unless a bug is a critical bug, we are not super rapid at responding.  I saw your bug posting, and recommend for the next time to prefix the title with PATCH as that makes the bug report stand out when I am making new releases.

As you noticed, I implemented a variable for setting the catalog backend database type but never implemented the code for setting and using it, so your patch is a very nice extension.  I have not yet looked at the details of your submission, but the code does look very clean.

For me to apply any patch of more than about 10 lines of code, I need you to fill out a Copyright Assignment Agreement (CAA) or possibly your employer if he owns the IP that you create.  This is critical so that the code remains open source and so that we can freely interchange the open source with Bacula Systems, who has contributed enormous amounts of code to Bacula.  All the contributors to Bacula have signed such an agreement.

The agreement can be found at:

www.bacula.org -> General -> Licenses

then scroll down to the bottom of the page.  There is a brief explanation of why this is needed, and a link to the pdf.

If you have any questions about the CAA or what you must do, please do not hesitate to email me directly off list at my return address.  For all technical issues please continue to email to the bacula-devel list as you have done.

Many thanks for your interest in Bacula, and thanks for your contribution.  I hope we can see more contributions.

Best regards,
Kern

Subject: Query regarding patch commit

Hi All,

I've attached a patch on community for bug-2340
http://bugs.bacula.org/view.php?id=2340

Is there any different process to commit bug on community as there is no response over it?

Regards,
Kanika
