Hi folks, I've learned something about the tape cleaning light... it sometimes means the DLT drive cannot determine the DLT format. For example, I put a tape in a DLT 7000 and the tape cleaning light came on. I then ejected the tape, and manually selected 35GB for the tape format. I put the tape back into the drive, and the tape cleaning light went out.
Have you ever noticed this before? On a related notce, I've been testing some used tapes I bought. I'll be retesting the "bad" ones by manually selecting the tape format first. -- Dan Langille : http://www.langille.org/ BSDCan - The Technical BSD Conference - http://www.bsdcan.org/ ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
