I'm running daily backups and using one volume per day per client. And the solution above would work if I would fill
each volume using a specified Max Vol Bytes. But I'm currently using one volume per diem and the volume size if
different every day.


Do you mean that Bacula should abort the job if the data won't fit in a
particular volume size even if there are other available volumes in the pool?




If the 'imaginary' pool size limit had not been reached it would run even if it would exceed the limit but the following would not run.
I would not want an abort.


What I'm trying to do is to see if there are any options to work with pool limits rather than volume limits - as mentioned I'm running
diskbased backups and trying to limit the size per client.

Maybe the Maximum Volumes directive the Pool resource will help?
