I needed a few files from one set, so I chose the option 5 (select the most recent backup for a client)
bconsole told me ( because I had a full dump and an incremental dump )
that two DDS-3 volumes were needed for the restore.
the full dump was file 5 on a tape with 15 files.
I put the tape with the full dump in the tape unit, bacula located file 5 and restored what it found there, just the way I expected it.
But then it continued to read the tape all the way, in between telling that it encounterd EOF's at each file; it continued to read teh entire tape to EO>T, then asked me to change the tape (the one with the incremental dump), from which it recoverd quite fast the outsdtanding files.
My understanding from the docs was, that bacula would be so smart as to "know" after reading the first itzems from the first tape, that there would be no more files to restore from this tape and immediately come back to ask for the second tape instead of cyclint throught the rest of tape 1 (which took an awful lot of time)
