Hi, What is the proper way to prepare a tape for writing with bacula? I have always had to use the mt format command (which takes hours with my DLT drives). There was a post here yesterday where someone had said an weof was all you needed. I apologize for not having the reference at hand but , I just attempted to rewind a tape, mt weof'd it and labeled it. All three steps completed ok.
Bacula then attempted lasts nights jobs which failed because of no appendable volumes, without success. They work fine in an windows environment. Again, if I erase the whole tape with mt they work fine. *version helpdesk-dir Version: 1.36.3 (22 April 2005) 5.4-STABLE FreeBSD 5.4-STABLE # Thank you. -mb ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
