Hi,
I send this to the list as well.

Without really looking in either my configuration or the manual: Maximum
Concurrent Jobs in the storage section in bacula-dir.conf needs also be
set.
Yeah, I've avoided setting it there because the manual strongly
recommends and warns against doing that, and it makes sense for a
tape drive...I thought spooling would negate that problem and write
to tape one at a time so there is no "interleaving".
That's what you can expect. The problem is that, whatever you do, the
data layout on tape gets more complicated. Due to that, I think, Kern
decided to warn so that nobody can be disappointed. After all, I assume
that debugging a wholte tape with interleaved data is quite a problem.
Since it's not
direct to tape it would spool multiple clients at once to disk
first. Is this possible? I would think the spooling of incoming data
would be independent of the Storage concurrency setting, or at least
still work with a concurrency of one, but maybe not. I'll raise that
up and see if it despools correctly...
It should. It usually does here :-)
Arno
Thanks,
Josh
