This is a bad idea. On most modern drives, you clean when the cleaning light comes on. If you have a DDS drive, cleaning once a month should be sufficient. If you run TapeAlert, and your drive is not too old, you will see when errors are occurring -- that also indicates the need for cleaning. > > I already get the message that i should use an admin job, but how can i > say use slot 8 from > library? The cleaning tape has no Label so i couldn´t call it that way. > > Thanks for every hint! > > How do you clean your tape drives? Manually? I have DLT, the cleaning light comes on about once a year. > > regards, > Timo -- Best regards, Kern ("> /\ V_V ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
