I want to have one pool for full backups and another pool containing incremental and differential backups. How do I make sure that the differential jobs know when a new full backup has been written in the other pool?

You set it up correctly :-)
Remember: You set up _one_ job, and use job overrides in the schedule (or on the command line) or use the Full (etc.) Pool directives. Then bacula knows which backups belong together and where to store them.

Remember that it's not easily possible to restore from different media types when you set up your pools!

I am new to Bacula so I might have missed something in the documentation if so please advice me on where to find the information.
