Further note on this part:  The default client timeout is 30 minutes.
This doesn't sound like your problem; it sounds more as though your
network is timing out and dropping the connection.  Try enabling
heartbeat, which MAY help with this:

Heartbeat Interval = <time-interval>
    This record defines an interval of time. For each heartbeat that the
File daemon receives from the Storage daemon, it will forward it to the
Director. In addition, if no heartbeat has been received from the
Storage daemon and thus forwarded the File daemon will send a heartbeat
signal to the Director and to the Storage daemon to keep the channels
active. The default interval is zero which disables the heartbeat. This
feature is particularly useful if you have a router such as 3Com that
does not follow Internet standards and times out an inactive connection
after a short duration.


Ultimately, though, there's very little Bacula can do about a network
problem.  An unreliable network is simply outside of Bacula's scope to
be able to fix.
