Uh ..... You know "they" are barking mad, right? The sane solution to this would be to buy separate monthly tapes. > Anyway, all that aside--I've read the manual and I'm just not sure on a > particular issue: can one purge then relabel volumes willy-nilly, even > with volume names you've used before, and backups will still happen > happily? Well, yeah, it'll *WORK* ... you'll have to purge, delete, erase, then re-label from scratch, rather than just using the relabel command ... but it's a lot of extra work and opportunity for error just to save a few bucks. You might ask them which is more important to them -- their data, or the cost of a few SDLT tapes. -- Phil Stracchino [EMAIL PROTECTED] Renaissance Man, Unix generalist, Perl hacker Mobile: 603-216-7037 Landline: 603-886-3518 ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
