Uh .....
You know "they" are barking mad, right?  The sane solution to this would
be to buy separate monthly tapes.

Well, yeah, it'll *WORK* ...  you'll have to purge, delete, erase, then
re-label from scratch, rather than just using the relabel command ...
but it's a lot of extra work and opportunity for error just to save a
few bucks.  You might ask them which is more important to them -- their
data, or the cost of a few SDLT tapes.
