Hello *,
if i get the storage status, i saw the messages in the attachment
bacula-status.log.
What does "Device is BLOCKED waiting for appendable media." mean in detail?
That means that the device needs a volume to append data to. In other
words, whatever is loaded is now full.
This seems wrong, because the tape reuse is 7 days, so this tape should
be logical empty every tuesday. Do i misunderstood the "Volume
Retention = 7 days" and "Recycle = yes"?
Most probably, you expect Bacula to prune a volume seven days after it
was written to.
That is not what happens (and I think this is described in the manual):
Once a volume is in status Full or Used, it is not used anymore. The
retention period is the time span during which the volume will not be
pruned after it was last written to.
Usually, you would also get a mail to the operator email account you
specified.
I get this mail. But i don't understand the behaviour of bacula ;-), so
the problem sits in front of the monitor.
The storage definiton for the used ait tape is:
Device {
Name = SDX-500V
Media Type = SDX-500V
Archive Device = /dev/nst0
LabelMedia = yes;
Random Access = no;
AutomaticMount = yes;
RemovableMedia = yes;
AlwaysOpen = yes;
}
Do i have the problem here, or is it correct?
Volume retention and recycling has nothing to do with the storage device.
