Hi all

I am a long time Amanda user looking for something that spans tapes, and can do decent win32 restores... so here I am :)

While I await the arrival of my LTO3 tape library, I was wondering if I could ask some really dumb questions about Bacula.

- When the clients send their backups to the Storage Daemon, does it go direct to tape, or spooled to disk (like Amanda does) and then writen to tape from there?

- Best choice for newbie - Source tarball or RPM? (tape server running Fedora Core 4 btw)

- Which is the best option of bare metal restore for win32 boxes? There are a few options mentioned, but they all tend to leave me with the impression that there isnt a clear winner.

Many thanks for any help you can give to point me in the right direction, it is greatly appreciated.

Steve
