You need to move up to version 1.38.1 where the .status command is 
implemented. 

Please note that the .status command seems to be implemented differently from 
other commands.  It does not support client=xxx, ... and to get the status of 
a Storage daemon, you must contact that SD directly.   I think it would be 
worthwhile extending the implementation to support the client=xxxx syntax, 
and allow the Director to contact the client for the GUI program and pass the 
info back to the GUI program as it does with the status command.
