Hi All, I'm using this tapes drivers and It is working properly (with tar/cpio etc ...) using ide-scsi module (not ide-tape), but even using ide-scsi module the tape driver doesn't pass btape test, I did a lot of effort to configure in order to use it and I always got a fail.
I have decided no to use this devices anymore with bacula and I have changed to DAT devices to get running bacula in those newer server we need it. I hope this information will be useful. I don't particularly recommend these drives as they are not SCSI drives and hence behave more like a brain-damaged disk than a tape -- hence their reliability is should be carefully verified IMO.
