Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is having a good holiday!
Thanks, it's been quite good and now that I'm really well fed again...
I've been trying to track
down why my autochanger won't work with version 1.38.2. When I "turn
on" the wit_for_drive function in mtx-changer, the tape never reurns as
ready.
Ok, I guess it might be a bug I found, too...
I seem to have some problem in workq but am not sure what to
look for. My coding skills have eroded over the years. I'm running this
on a RH 8 system and this worked on earlier versions of bacula. Also,
is there anyway to revert to an earlier version of bacula (such as
1.36)? I know there may be database issues etc.
If you're still fighting with the problem you describe, you could try
the following work around:
Implement a really long wait_for_drive timeout. Depending on your tape
hardware, something like 300 waiting loops with a sleep of 3 seconds
each could be ok. This timeout should allow virtually every tape to be
loaded in the tape drive.
When the timeout runs out, exit without an error.
I had this done, partly by accident, and it worked :-)
This seems to be a bug that hits me only the first time a SD instance
loads a tape drive, afterwards I don't observe that error.
According to Kern, this bug *should* be fixed in the current 1.38.3 beta
version, but I didn't try it yet.
By the way - did you too observe a performance degradation with 1.38.2/3?
