I could back everything up to hard drive, and then for my monthly
archives copy the data to DVD+-R. The only problem I see is recovering
the data would seem to require copying it all back to the hard drive
first.

Only, I was wondering. Would there be a way to copy a backup volume to
another media and have Bacula recognize it?

One problem here is the fact that I'd have to copy one hard disc to
multiple DVDs. Can I partition the hard drive to 4.3g partitions, mount
and label them separately, add them to a pool, and have Bacula span
them automatically?

Is there then a way to copy them to DVD media such that Bacula would
recognize them as the same volumes?

Buying hard drives for the daily/weekly backups is OK, but I'd still
like to archive to cheaper media. That 5x price differential is too
darned attractive to give up without a fight.

Thanks.
