I discovered the misterious delay issue, connected to the strange pruning / recycle behaviours.
I am no more sure about my manual purge, so, I will accept your conclusion about my Files Mismatch happenging.

As suggested by some user some time ago, I had some installations with a "RunBeforeScript" that runs a "stat dir" and a "mount" of the QUANTUM device.
This seems to force the Recycle / Purge routines, just before running the first job.
If not run, the Recycle seems to happen at Bacula random desires, maybe after some hours of Intervention Needed.

So I just placed the same script on this mysterious installation, and things keep going good again.

Thanx to the one that suggested the script.

Gabriele.

I am almost sure that, at the time the error was encountered, the volume
was not purged. Simply because, after a volume is purged in the catalog,
Bacula will not fast forward to the EOD on tape and thereby count the
file marks on the tape and compare it to the value stored in the
catalog. Instead, it will simply rewind the tape and start with a new
volume label and, at the same time, set the catalog info accordingly.

You seem to have a very mysterious Bacula running - again things happen
mysteriously...
