So the dust has settled; there were two problems:
i) incompatible SCSI card w/mainboard (tyan s2460)
ii) bad LTO drive
I now have one LTO-1 drive working in my autochanger (Dell pv128t) with an
adaptec 39160 pci-x card.
I ran tar to tape at speeds ~1MB/s which led me to think bacula wasn't the
problem...
Hehe, I used dd, ran with slow speed too.
Does the 39160 work at all for you?
I had multiple alerts for the card in the dmesg with a 2.6 kernel.
Dropped it and replaced it with an "old" 2940-UW to connect the tape.
Greetings,
Michael
