This is also the behaviour you'll see if you set a filesystem Volume
label.
And, the SimpleTech drive. It is another USB device. I want to have
a directory in /media called simpletech created if this drive is turned
on/connected/mounted. Guess what I see when I turn it on?

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ ldir /media/simpletech/
Do these devices have volume labels or have you been having to resort to
other means?
