Dear List, is there nobody who could shed some light about this subject? Even if it is only RTFM (altough i did that quite a few times) :-)
thanks Guy -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [Bacula-users] EMail notification for mounting tape Date: Tue, 31 Jan 2006 15:39:54 +0100 From: Guy Zürcher <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Organization: Raptus AG To: bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net Hello Bacula Users, i would like to inform the end users (mostly secretaries) what tape has to be mounted, each day. In fact Bacula (or some script) shall send a daily email, indicating the correct tape to mount. The problem is, that we have quite a special pool setup (for daily, monthly and some special pools). So Bacula always knows what tape suits best... Now i tried with the "option operator = [EMAIL PROTECTED] = mount". But the backups are running in the night, so the mail is sent too late. Then i tried to setup a dummy job in the morning, so the info mail would be sent earlier. But this is not quite adequate, since the volume name is not being sent in the email. Look at the output of this dummy job. 30-Jan 11:00 sulfron-sd: Job Backup_Mount_Volume_Request.2006-01-30_11.00.00 waiting. Cannot find any appendable volumes. Please use the "label" command to create a new Volume for: Storage: HPStorageWorksUltrium215 Media type: C7971A Pool: MondayPool Further i would like to customize the message, so a end user does not get confused. I know i saw that somewhere... Anyone has this something similar set up? ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
