If you don't use DNS for resolving, you can either use the IP address
- like 10.2.3.4 - or you put the IP-name-relationship into the hosts
file. Under Windows, thats, IIRC, in \windows\system32\drivers\etc.
Thanks so much. I have been looking for a hosts file but the windows
search function didn't find it.
That's what you get when you put those files into a directory other than
/etc :-)
I have now added epohost to the file
and that made W2K find epohost.
Good first step.
However, another test run gave same negative result:
Bad second step :-(
15-Mar 17:24 epowork-fd: epowork.2006-03-15_17.19.29 Fatal error:
Failed to connect to Storage daemon: epohost:9103
This at least looks correct.
15-Mar 17:22 epo-dir: epowork.2006-03-15_17.19.29 Fatal error: Socket
error on Storage command: ERR=No data available
15-Mar 17:22 epo-dir: Bacula 1.38.5 (18Jan06): 15-Mar-2006 17:22:28
OK. Here's what I tried:
1. ping epohost, which pinged the correct IP-address successfully
2. telnet epohost 9103, which produced the error message:
Connecting To epohost...Could not open a connection to host on port
9103: Connect failed
Hmm. Depending on your telnet, you should perhaps get a different reply.
Does the connection fail immediately or after some time?
You might check the setup of epohost again: Does the SD actually run? Is
it attached to the interface your connections arrive at (netstat)? Do
all firewall rules and tcp wrapper rules allow connections from the
client epowork-fd runs on?
3. I have attached the four conf files in question in case someone
would take a look at it and tell me what I do wrong, thanks.
Not immediately, sorry, but perhaps someone else...
Oh, I'm too tired, forgot the attachment.
Doesn't matter, I'm too tired to open the .gz now... sorry. I'm afraid I
won't be accessing my mail over the weeken, so you'll have to wait till
Monday...
