Well, loaded as "cartridge is in the drive", but not "tape is attached
to drive", I think.

I don't know that Exabyte device, but what's about mtx?
--> mtx -f /dev/sg0 eject gives me: "mtx: eject failed"
--> mtx -f /dev/sg1 eject gives me: *nothing* Prompt just comes back after some time. After that an mtx status works, while an mt status says: I/O --> error!

Yup. mtx unload etc. pp.
--> No, sorry, that's the point: Before I can unload the tape, I need to eject it in order the robot can grab it.
--> Unload as such works: I did a test where I ejected the tape via my loader's webgui in a first step: Then the robot can grab the tape and puts it --> wherever I want.
--> In fact, to eject the tape via any command I can insert in the changer script is the last problem I have to solve before going to production.
