Ah - ok To make spooling work with the default rpms the perms on the /var/bacula dir need to change so that the sd can write to it.
The rpm sets the perms to root:bacula Whilst the sd is run as bacula:disks It seems the sd spools some data to the /var/bacula then it starts to use SpoolDirectory. I chown(ed) bacula /var/bacula to get this to work, but there might be a better solution. Scott are you aware of these issues?
