Hello,
I have situations where Bacula seems not to check the tape on job startup, so it doesn't sense that the tape has been changed, thinks that the tape is still the previous one, and then go on asking to change tape when actually the device has the correct one.
For example:
- I have the configuration file running daily backups, one day for each volume.
- On Monday night the backup job failed because the Monday volume was in error state since last week (a corrupted tape was inserted erroneously).
- Then it comes tuesday, and during the afternoon the operator removes the tape manually from the LTO, and put in the new one.
- All the old monday waiting jobs are canceled because the max delay has been reached
- Then starts the new daily job at 23:00
- Bacula complains that it needs the tuesday tape.
- On Thursday morning I see the problem, stop bacula, use btape to read the label, and see that the tape is correct: tuesday

How can this happen? Why is bacula not looking at the tape before asking for the correct one?

thanx for any help.
Gabriele.
