Hi,

I had a job fill a tape and it took me a day to get the tape changed.
During that time, the MySQL connection apparently timed out. It appears
that whatever I do from the console just gets me the "MySQL server has
gone away" error.

I've read in the archives why this is happening and I know how to turn
up the wait_timeout to avoid this in the future. I'm mostly wondering
about this job I have running right now.

I'm in the middle of a backup to tape. I'm ready to label the next tape
and allow the backup to continue. Is there a way to force the director
to try to reconnect to MySQL? If I restart just the director process,
will it be able to continue the tape backup job that is half done?

What's the safest way to proceed from here? I'd prefer not to lose this
backup if I don't have to. I really don't want to get my catalog
corrupted or something.

Thanks for the help. BTW, this is Bacula 1.36.3 and MySQL 5.0.22.

Jeff
